Everton manager reacts to £20m Alex Iwobi Fulham transfer talks
Everton manager Sean Dyche has reacted to raving speculation Alex Iwobi could join Fulham FC for £20m before the transfer window closes.
The transfer window closes on September 1, and clubs are making last ditch transfer moves to beef up their squad for the 2023/2024 season.
Fulham FC are reportedly ready to sign Nigerian International Alex Iwobi for a £20m, a significant figure considering the player is in the final months of his current contract.
Efforts to renew Iwobi’s contract has not been successful and so the Toffees could be tempted to sell to avoid losing him for free next summer.
When questioned about the ongoing speculation surrounding the 27-year-old’s future, Dyche provided a concise response to the Liverpool Echo.
“It’s noise at the moment.” Dyche said.
Despite the response, discussion will continue until deadline day as Fulham FC manager Marco Silva wants midfield reinforcement.
Arsenal Academy product Alex Iwobi is an integral part of Sean Dyche’s team and a transfer will further weaken the Everton team which is already struggling in defence and attack.
