Ex-Flying Eagles star Aniekeme Okon joins Rivers United
Former Nigeria Flying Eagles star, Aniekeme Okon has joined Rivers United FC ahead of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League season.
Earlier this month, Aniekeme Okon announced his departure from 2023/2024 NPFL runners-up, Remo Stars Sports Club, penning an emotional farewell to the Sky Blues after two years.
Okon who was a key member of the Flying Eagles squad to the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup has already made a fine start to life at Rivers United.
The skillful midfielder has reportedly penned a 2-year deal with the Pride of Rivers ahead of the 2024/2025 season.
The Rivers State-based side is expected to make his arrival official soon after their ongoing participation at the 2024 Valuejet pre-season tournament in Ikenne.
Born and bred in Akwa Ibom State, Aniekeme Okon is a product of Greater Tomorrow Sports Academy, Uyo. He has previously played for Akwa Starlet FC, Akwa United FC, Altay (Turkey), Kano Pillars FC, and Remo Stars.
