Rivers United’s Togolese defender, Douhadji Yaovi Joseph, has expressed his happiness and readiness to represent his country.

Following his recent call up to the Togolese National Team by Togo head coach, Tom Saintfiet, for an important 2017 Orange Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Tunisia.

In an Exclusive chat with www.sportsration.com, the lanky defender couldn’t hold his happiness at the call up.

“I am so happy, all I want to do now is to go and represent my country, put in my best and make my country proud.”

It is the central defender’s first international call up.

He also stated that he loves and enjoys playing for Rivers United and has no interest in playing for another club in the Nigeria Professional Football League outside the re-branded Rivers United.

“I like it here, I am doing well in Rivers United. For now it is Rivers United, Rivers United to Europe.”

The first leg of the qualifier will hold on March 25 in Rades. The return leg will take place in Lome on March 30.

Togo currently top Group A with 6points, while Tunisia are second in the group with 3 points.
