Favour Ofili vows to come back stronger after Olympic setback
Nigeria’s sprinter Favour Ofili has expressed her determination to return stronger following a challenging Olympic Games in Paris.
Ofili faced a series of setbacks, including the omission of her name from the women’s 100 meters, a disappointing performance in the 200 meters, and her relay team’s failure to advance to the final.
Despite these challenges, Ofili remains resolute and positive. In a recent statement, she reflected on the experience and her resolve to bounce back. “It’s easy to feel defeated, but every setback is a setup for a comeback,” Ofili said. “I’m proud of myself; this Olympic Games made me realize how strong I am, and I’m grateful for the support I got from my coach, family, and fans.”
Ofili also emphasized her faith as a source of strength, stating, “Trusting God’s plan and ways is the only way to heal because I know His plans for me are to give me hope and a future. Thank you, Paris, for yet another lesson learned and thank you to everyone who has been with me along the way—this isn’t the end, it’s just another step in the story.”
