Head coach of FC ONE Rocket, Ndubisi Ndah has hailed his players for an excellent performance at the Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament, which ended on Sunday with the Indomitables losing 8-9 on penalties to Abia Warriors after an enthralling 90 minutes 2-2 draw.

“It was a fantastic game. For me, I think the best game they have played in this tournament is this game.

“I am so proud of them…I am proud that in one month I can get a team that can play like this and I believe that when we start working, more will be seen in their movement and play”

On whether participation at the Tico/Select Pre-season Tournament is an edge for his side heading into the upcoming NNL season, Ndah said:

“In football, it is when you want to play a higher team, that is when you get the best out of your players; and when you go back to the normal stage where you belong, it is a fight…but I feel that this will give us an edge in the sense that it will make us to be prepared and know that the work that is coming up is higher than what we are seeing.”

No date has been fixed yet for the commencement of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League season, but with the Annual General Meeting coming up on Wednesday, it is clear that the new season will commence soon.

FC ONE Rocket narrowly missed out on promotion to the topflight after impressing in the regular season last term, and will hope to achieve promotion to the elite league when hostilities begin.
