FC ONE Rocket to face new-look Vandrezzer FC In NNL Pre-season friendly
Eket based Nigeria National League clubs, FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC will face-off in a pre-season friendly match on Thursday, October 26.
The match is part of preparations for the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
FC ONE Rocket announced on their social media handles that the Pre-season friendly match vs Vandrezzer FC will take place at the Uyo Township Stadium on Thursday, October 26, 2023 by 10am.
Local-rivals, FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC will look to make use of the extended preparation time following postponement of the 2023/2024 Nigeria National League Kick-off Date.
On Wednesday evening, the Nigeria National League board announced it’s decision to postpone the kick-off date for the 2023/2024 season citing delay in registration by clubs.
That means, the official opening game fixed for October 28 between Dakkada FC vs 1472 FC of Lagos at the Uyo Township Stadium will now wait for a new kick-off date.
A keen rivalry between FC ONE Rocket and Vandrezzer FC launched during the 2022/2023 NNL season will spice up the pre-season friendly match in Uyo on Thursday morning.
Whereas, FC ONE Rocket began preparations for the new season two months ago, Vandrezzer FC are looking to build a new-look squad after wholesale changes during the break.
In their previous meetings, FC ONE Rocket hold a superior record vs Vandrezzer FC. The Indomitables have never lost to the Lions.
In the 2022/2023 season, FC ONE Rocket knocked Vandrezzer FC out of the Akwa Ibom State FA Cup in the last-5, before a goalless draw in the Nigeria National f at their shared territory, the Eket Stadium.
Coach Ndubisi Ndah tutored Rockets flew over the Lions in the 2nd-leg on their way to securing the groups sole promotion playoff spot.
