Fenerbahce Step Up Move For Super Eagles Defender Calvin Bassey

Turkish giants Fenerbahce have stepped up their interest in Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey as they continue plans to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season.

The Istanbul-based club are reportedly keen on signing the Nigerian international following his impressive performances for Fulham in the English Premier League.

Fenerbahce are looking to rebuild after another disappointing campaign in the Turkish Super Lig and have identified Bassey as one of their major transfer targets.

The versatile defender joined Fulham from Ajax in 2023 and has since become one of the club’s most reliable players with a string of consistent displays at the back.

Bassey’s strength, pace and ability to play in different defensive positions have continued to attract attention from several clubs across Europe.

The 25-year-old has established himself as a regular starter at Craven Cottage and remains an important figure for both Fulham and the Nigerian national team.

Fenerbahce are believed to be ready to meet Fulham’s valuation for the defender as they hope to convince him to make the switch to Turkey this summer.

A potential move could also offer improved financial terms for Bassey, who may now face a big decision concerning the next stage of his career.
