Festival Of Goals As 2022 Akwa Ibom state Grassroots League Begins.

Fans at the Onna Township stadium in Akwa Ibom State were served a festival of goals on the opening day of the 2022 Akwa Ibom state Grassroots League.
Fourteen goals (14) were scored in the four matches decided today. Defending Champions Krane Fc led by example in the opening game of the day defeating Josima Fc 3-1. It took 20 minutes for Krane Fc forward Ifeanyi Okorie to net the first goal Of the season.
Josima Fc leveled scores in the 34th minute through Felix Finefine as both sides went into the changing rooms with the scoreboard reading 1-1.
In the second half, Krane Fc took charge of the game and secured all three points following goals from James and Ifeanyi Okorie’s second of the day. It finished Krane Fc 3-1 Josima Fc.
In the second game of the day, Solomon Brownson scored in the first half to hand Oxygen Fc a 1-0 win over fellow debutants Scorpions Fc.
A first half spot kick converted by Ani Slyvanus was enough for Unity Fc to punish Wasteful Barracks Fc in the third game of the opening day. Barracks Fc will be hitting hard on themselves for failing to convert any of their numerous chances. It finished Unity Fc 1-0 Barracks Fc.
The goals gate was opened for festivities as Blessed Stars Academy defeated Cheetah Fc 5-3 in the final game of the opening day.
Hat-tricks for Jersey number 10 of both teams Isreal Jacob (Blessed Stars) and Nelson Abraham (Cheetah Fc) plus strikes by Nanchang Falum and Imeobong Okoro both of Blessed stars Academy left fans cheering in excitement and served as a perfect summary for the opening day action.
The University of Uyo Mini stadium will be Venue for Matchday one games involving the Eight Uyo Zone teams. Last seasons Runners up Eagle Eye Academy take on Ikoya Fc by 9am. Jimbo International face Pillars Investors by 11am while Edak Fc and Fullife Football Academy lock horns by 1pm. Nichin Football Academy face New Flame in the last game of Matchday one by 3pm.
The preliminary round of the 2022 Akwa Ibom state Grassroots League is expected to last for Seven weeks with Onna Zone matches taking place on Thursdays while the Uyo Zone teams take their turn on Fridays.
