Fidelis Ilechukwu sends message to Rangers International supporters after home loss to Tornadoes
Rangers International manager Fidelis Ilechukwu has called on the club’s supporters to continue backing the team despite their disappointing 1-2 home loss to Niger Tornadoes on Saturday, January 25, 2025.
The reigning NPFL champions were edged out by the Ikon Allah Boys in a matchday 20 fixture of the 2024/2025 season at their home ground in Enugu. Ilechukwu expressed his frustration with the result, describing it as an unexpected setback. However, he remains hopeful that the team will achieve success by the end of the season.
In his post-match comments, Ilechukwu said, “I told my players before the start of the game that it was going to be a very difficult match, and it turned out to be just that. We created many chances but only converted one, while our opponents made the most of their two opportunities.”
Despite the loss, he appealed to Rangers’ loyal supporters, urging them to stand by the team. “I call upon our supporters to stand beside this team, which is the best team in the league. I assure everyone that by the end of the season, we will be congratulated.”
Rangers will look to bounce back when they face El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, in matchday 21 of the NPFL.
