FIFA Announces Nominees for The Best Awards 2025
FIFA has released the shortlist for The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025, honouring the top players, coaches, and goalkeepers in both the men’s and women’s game.
The awards recognise the best in each category, regardless of nationality or competition, for achievements between 11 August 2024 and 2 August 2025.
The six categories are: The Best FIFA Men’s Player, The Best FIFA Men’s Coach, The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper, The Best FIFA Women’s Player, The Best FIFA Women’s Coach, and The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper.
The Best FIFA Men’s Player
Nominees include France’s Kylian Mbappe (Real Madrid), England’s Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah (Liverpool). Young stars Lamine Yamal, Cole Palmer, and Pedri are also among the contenders, alongside PSG trio Ousmane Dembele, Achraf Hakimi, and Vitinha.
The Best FIFA Men’s Coach
Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta and Chelsea’s Enzo Maresca have been nominated, joining a strong list that includes Luis Enrique (PSG), Hansi Flick (Barcelona), Roberto Martinez (Portugal), Javier Aguirre (Mexico), and Arne Slot (Liverpool).
The Best FIFA Men’s Goalkeeper
Top goalkeepers in contention include Alisson Becker (Liverpool), Thibaut Courtois (Real Madrid), Emiliano Martinez (Aston Villa), David Raya (Arsenal), and Manuel Neuer (Bayern Munich).
The Best FIFA Women’s Player
The women’s list features some of the biggest names in world football, including Spain’s Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas (Barcelona), England stars Lauren James, Lucy Bronze, Alessia Russo, and Leah Williamson, as well as Malawi’s Temwa Chawinga and France’s Kadidiatou Diani.
The Best FIFA Women’s Coach
Nominees include Sarina Wiegman (England), Sonia Bompastor (Chelsea), Renee Slegers (Arsenal), Jonatan Giraldez (Washington Spirit/Olympique Lyonnais), and Seb Hines (Orlando Pride).
The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper
Nigeria’s Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated after an impressive year with Paris FC and Brighton. Other contenders include Cata Coll (Barcelona), Ann-Katrin Berger (Gotham FC), Hannah Hampton (Chelsea), and Christiane Endler (Olympique Lyonnais).
The winners will be chosen through a voting process involving national team captains and coaches, journalists, and fans worldwide.
