FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup: What to expect in the final group games
The final group games of the 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup will be played on the 17/18 October 2022.
The tournament hosted in India has 16 countries battling for the top prize in Four Groups.
After two round of matches, SportsRation presents a preview of the final group games to enlighten you on what to expect.
GROUP A
A sorry tournament it has been for hosts India thus far and it won’t get any easier as they face Brazil in the final group game on Monday.
Table-toppers USA and Morroco face-off in the other group game with both sides eyeing the maximum points to reach the last 8.
India will play for pride, Thomas Dennerby tutored ladies already ruled out of contention for a place in the knockout rounds after humiliating results from the first two matches.
Second placed Brazil are level on 4 points with the USA who lead the group courtesy of a +7 goal difference.
Morroco sit in third place and will reach the last eight with Victory over USA on Monday October 17.
GROUP B
Germany will reach the Quater Finals of the India 2022 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup no matter the outcome of their encounter vs New Zealand.
Germany leads the way with 6 points, three more than Nigeria (3points) , Chile (3 points) while New Zealand are bottom of the log with no points.
Nigeria and Chile will battle for the other knockout stage qualification spot by 12:30pm on Monday October 17.
A win for either side will confirm their progression and elimination of the losers.
Nigeria will qualify for the Knock-out stage if it ends in a draw. The Flamingos boost of a superior goal difference over their Opponents Chile.
GROUP C
All four teams are tied on 3points ahead of the final group games.
Colombia lead the group with a +1 goal difference ahead of their meeting with second placed Mexico who stunned defending Champions Spain in the last round of matches.
Spain and Mexico will face-off in the games of the Group billed to hold on Tuesday October 18, 2022.
If both games end in draws, Colombia will progress, while the score will determine who joins them between Mexico and Spain.

GROUP D
Japan face France in the final group game. The Japanese have garnered maximum points from the games against second placed Tanzania and Canada.
A maiden FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup win for Tanzania over France on Saturday has put the African side in good stead to progress when they face Canada on Tuesday.
France who have a single point from two games face Japan in a win-or-go clash They need the points same way Japan is hoping to finishing on a high .
