“First time in Five Decades” – Plateau United use flight to honour NPFL fixture

Plateau United have made history by travelling by air for a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) match for the first time in fifty years.
The Jos-based club announced the milestone on social media, writing:
“✈️ For the first time in five decades, Plateau United Football Club take to the skies for a domestic league fixture! The #PeaceBoys have touched down in Ilorin ahead of our #NPFL26 showdown with Kwara United – a milestone made possible by the unwavering support of H.E Barr Caleb Mutfwang and the Plateau State Government.”
The Peace Boys are set to face Kwara United at the Rashidi Yekini Mainbowl Stadium in Ilorin on Thursday.
Kwara United, nicknamed the Harmony Boys, currently sit 16th on the table with four points. Their visitors, Plateau United, climbed to 13th position after edging El-Kanemi Warriors 1-0 at the New Jos Stadium on Saturday. Monday Gideon’s 32nd-minute strike sealed the win – Plateau United’s second of the season.
