Fisayo Dele-Bashiru opens up about his Serie A Journey
Super Eagles midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has spoken about his experiences since joining Lazio in Serie A, describing his time so far as both challenging and rewarding.
The 25-year-old admitted that adapting to life in Italy hasn’t been easy, but he sees the obstacles as opportunities for growth. He believes that with more experience, he will succeed in the competitive league.
Adjusting to Serie A: Challenges and Growth
Dele-Bashiru acknowledged that moving to a new league with different tactics and higher expectations has been demanding. However, he remains positive, crediting his coach and teammates for pushing him to improve every day.
“It’s been a bit stop and start,” he told Football Fans Tribe. “But I think the coach is helping me adjust to the league and the new surroundings. They are pushing me to be the best I can be, and it’s helping me grow as a player.”
He is confident that as the season progresses and he gains more experience, things will improve.
Focus on Defensive Skills
While Dele-Bashiru’s attacking contributions are important, he emphasised the need to work on his defensive abilities, particularly his tactical awareness.
“I think the main thing is my defensive side. My tactical awareness defensively—that’s something I’m really focused on improving this season. If I can do that, the future looks bright,” he added.
Despite the ups and downs, Dele-Bashiru is determined to adapt to Serie A’s demands and prove himself as a key player for Lazio.
