Flying Eagles captain Ikouwem Udoh takes pride in his Super Eagles debut, looking forward to lead Nigeria to glory in Poland
Flying Eagles’ captain Ikouwem Udoh is extremely happy to have played his first International game for the Super Eagles after coming on as a late substitute in Nigeria’s 1-0 win against Egypt in Tuesday.
Ikouwem Udoh came in for Simon Moses late on in the internatiomal friendly as Nigeria got their first ever win against Egypt since 1990.
The Enyimba left back explained what playing his first game for Super Eagles meant to him and his family
“Actually it was a great privilege for me as a player to make my debut in the senior national team.
“It was also great for my profile. It was an exciting moment for me and I am grateful to God, my family, coaches and everyone who made it possible for me to get there,” said Ikouwem as quoted by ScoreNigeria.
Ikouwem Udoh who will captain Nigeria to the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland is confident his set could be the first Nigeria U-20 team to win the world youth world cup.
“I believe with a good preparation, right set of players in the camp and determination we will make Nigeria proud in Poland.”
Nigeria U-20 are drawn in group D alongside Qatar, Ukraine and USA.
