Flying Eagles dominate Morak FC 6-0 in warm-up game ahead of WAFU B U20 Championship
Nigeria’s U20 team, the Flying Eagles, showed their readiness for the upcoming 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship with an impressive 6-0 victory over Morak FC in a warm-up match on Wednesday morning at the FIFA Goal Project.
The team, coached by Aliyu Zubairu, has been in camp for three weeks, preparing for the tournament in Togo. The players displayed excellent teamwork and a strong understanding of each other’s strengths, following the coach’s instructions closely.
Morak FC, who travelled from Warri, Delta State, managed to hold off the Flying Eagles in the first half, conceding only one goal. However, tactical changes and substitutions in the second half saw the Flying Eagles take control, scoring five more goals to seal a dominant win.
The Flying Eagles are drawn in Group B of the 2024 WAFU B U20 Championship, alongside Burkina Faso and Côte d’Ivoire. Group A consists of Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Niger Republic.
The tournament, which starts on October 17th in Togo, also serves as the qualifier for the 2025 CAF U20 African Nations Cup.
