Flying Eagles list of invited players for two match friendly match

Nigeria’s Flying Eagles are getting ready for a two-match friendly tour in Egypt, with games set for February 25th and 27th.

Head Coach Aliyu Zubairu has selected 30 players for the camp, as they prepare to face the Egyptian team in Cairo.

The team will be led by Enyimba’s rising star Clinton Japhet and Shola Adelani, a talented winger from Ikorodu City who has impressed in his first season in the NPFL.

These friendly matches are part of the Flying Eagles’ preparation for the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, which will take place in Cote d’Ivoire from April 26th to May 18th. The top four teams from the tournament will qualify for the FIFA U20 World Cup in Chile, which is scheduled for September 27th to October 19th.

The Flying Eagles have a strong history in the Africa U20 Cup of Nations, having won the tournament seven times. They secured their spot in this year’s competition by winning the WAFU-B U20 Championship in Togo last October, defeating Ghana 3-1 in the final.

The team also has a proud history in the FIFA U20 World Cup, finishing as runners-up in 1989 and 2005. At the last tournament in Argentina, they just missed out on the semi-finals after losing to Korea Republic in extra time.
