Flying Eagles Name 35-Man Squad for Final U-20 AFCON Camp

Flying Eagles head coach Aliyu Zubairu has called up 35 players for the team’s final training camp ahead of the 2025 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The seven-time African champions moved their camp to Abuja on Monday to begin full preparations.

Most of the players selected were part of the squad that won the WAFU B U-20 Championship in Togo last year. Some of the key names include Daniel Bameiyi, Ebenezer Harcourt, Adamu Maigari, Kenneth Igbokwe, and Sabiu Mohammed.

Other players invited to camp are Sulaiman Alabi ‘Jojo’, Nasiru Salihu, Oliseh Divine, Bidemi Amole, and Clinton Jephta.

In addition, seven foreign-based players have been called up to join the training camp.

The Flying Eagles are in Group B of the U-20 AFCON, where they will face Egypt, Morocco, and South Africa.

The tournament will kick off on 27 April in Cairo, Egypt.
