Flying Eagles star Daniel Daga agrees move to European club
Flying Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Daniel Daga has signed a pre-contract with Norwegian club Molde and is set to pen a professional contract in January when he turns 18. This move resolves ongoing speculations about his future.
Daga, known for his work ethic and defensive prowess, attracted interest from English club Watford and a leading Belgian team last year.
He gained prominence with his standout performances at the 2022 WAFU U20 AFCON qualifying tournament in Niger Republic, where he helped the Flying Eagles secure their place in the 2023 U20 AFCON.
However, a knee injury sustained during the opening group game against Senegal, who later won the tournament, prematurely ended his participation in the U20 AFCON held in Egypt.
Despite this setback, Daniel Daga made a notable recovery and contributed significantly to the Flying Eagles’ quarterfinal run at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
Last season, he played on loan at Enyimba from FC One Rocket, and is set to continue with the People’s Elephants until the winter transfer window when he will pen his pro-deal with Molde.
