Flying Eagles star joins Ukrainian club FC Polissya
Goalkeeper set to leave Nigeria for Europe
Flying Eagles shot-stopper Chijioke Aniagboso has been announced as a new player for Ukraine Premier League outfit FC Polissya having signed a five-year deal with the club.
Aniagboso is the Flying Eagles’ first-choice between the sticks at the ongoing FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where he has kept one clean sheet, against Italy, in three matches at the competition.
Aniagboso was the team’s second-choice at the start of the U-20 AFCON in February, before a series of impressive showings at the tournament in Egypt saw him dislodge Nathaniel Nwosu as the starting goalkeeper. He received an invitation to the Super Eagles squad, having been invited for the double-header against Guinea-Bissau after impressing in Egypt.
The 19-year-old features for Giant Brillars FC in the NNL, Nigeria’s second division. He becomes the first Flying Eagles star to secure a move on the back of his performances for the team. He will hope to continue to impress when Nigeria faces hosts Argentina in the Round of 16 on Wednesday.

Aniagboso will join FC Polissya at the start of the 2023-24 season after they gained promotion to the top-flight by winning the second division.
