Flying Eagles training session begins with 18 players ahead of 2024 All African Games
Flying Eagles of Nigeria head coach, Ladan Bosso, led the team’s first training session on Saturday morning with a modest squad of 18 players, as they prepare for the 2024 African games.
The training took place at Training Pitch 1 of the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, lasting for an hour from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
The session featured light exercises in preparation for the upcoming competition scheduled for March.
Earlier in the week, Bosso had extended invitations to 30 players, intending to trim the list down to 23 before the team’s departure to Ghana to face their group-stage opponents.
The upcoming tournament will feature eight teams vying for gold, including host nation Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uganda.
Scheduled to take place from 8th to 24th March 2024 in Accra, Ghana, the African Games Accra 2023 will serve as a platform for showcasing talent and promoting camaraderie among African nations in football and other sports.
At the previous edition held in Rabat, Morocco, Burkina Faso and Nigeria emerged as champions in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively.
The Flying Eagles will commence their campaign at the championship with a match against Uganda on 8th March 2024, scheduled for 9 pm.
