Folashade Oluwafemiayo sets WR, Bose Omolayo makes the podium as Nigeria take Gold and Silver in women’s Heavyweight Powerlifting event

It was a double delight for Team Nigeria in the women’s Heavyweight Powerlifting event after Folashade Oluwafemiayo sets a World Record to win the gold medal and she was joined on the podium by Bose Omolayo who finished second.

Again, the Nigerian para-athletes are leading the way with their incredible display at the ongoing Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.

Folashade Oluwafemiayo broke the World Record in the women’s Heavyweight Powerlifting event, after lifting a series of 130kg, 150kg & 155kg to score a cumulative 123.4 points, winning yet another GOLD medal for Nigeria.

Her compatriot, Bose Omolayo lifted 145kg and scored 115.2 points to finish second completing Nigeria Gold and Silver in the event.
