Former Eagles forward Isaac Promise dies at age 31
Austin Bold FC chairman Bobby Epstein has announced the death of Ex-Super Eagles forward Isaac Promise on Thursday evening.
According to a press statement released by the American club, the former Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles’ captain died on Wednesday, October 2 at the age of 31.
“The greatest loss a team can suffer is not on the scoreboard, it’s the death of a fellow teammate, wrote Epstein via the club’s Twitter account.
“It’s with shock and grief that we acknowledge the sudden death of Promise Isaac.
“On behalf of the BOLD organisation; we wish his wife, children and family strength and peace as they struggle to cope with his death.”
Promise represented Nigeria at the 2003 FIFA U17 World Cup held in Finland and was also part of the squad at the 2005 FIFA U20 World Cup in the Netherlands.
He played a huge role in Nigeria’s Silver finish at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.
