Former Super Eagles striker reveals Club Brugge coaching ambition
Former Super Eagles striker Joseph Akpala has revealed his ambition of coaching Belgium side Club Brugge.
Akpala in his playing days represented Club Brugge making 167 appearances , scoring 57 goals for the Belgian side.
His relationship with the club remains cordial, his residence metres away from the clubs home ground reason he will be happy to take charge as Coach of a club he reveals has a place in his heart.
A nine-cap Nigerian International Akpala has since retirement been into coaching and is currently assistant manager at Belgium outfit KV Kortirjj but managing Club Brugge is an ambition he holds.
” I wouldn’t call it a dream, but if I ever get the chance, I would certainly be happy with it,” the former Super Eagles striker said in an interview with Krant van West-Vlaanderen.
” So Club Brugge obviously has a place in my heart.”
” We (family) are completely settled here, and we want to stay here. Belgium is my second homeland. We are a small country, but everything is perfect here.” he stated.
