Frank Lampard gets new job
Former Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has found a new role after his challenging stint with the Blues came to an end.
Lampard took charge of Chelsea as a caretaker manager after Graham Potter was sacked. During his short time at the helm, he managed the team for just 11 games but couldn’t secure a permanent position. Since leaving Chelsea 15 months ago, Lampard has been out of management.
Recently, there were rumors that Lampard might return to coaching with Burnley after Vincent Kompany’s departure. However, a deal didn’t come through.
Now, the 46-year-old Chelsea legend has landed a new job as a pundit for Amazon Prime’s Champions League coverage. According to The Sun, Lampard will join a star-studded team of former players, including Daniel Sturridge, Gael Clichy, and Clarence Seedorf.
Lampard, who won the Champions League as a player, is no stranger to the camera. He recently appeared in the BBC’s coverage of Euro 2024, so this new role should feel comfortable for him.
Though Lampard has also managed Derby County and Everton, he has been open about his desire to return to coaching one day. However, since leaving Chelsea in June last year, the former England international, who earned 106 caps for his country, is yet to secure a new managerial position.
