Frank Lampard set for Chelsea return

Chelsea Football Club legend Frank Lampard is set for a short term return to Stamford Bridge as Interim manager until the end of the season.

The Englishman had previously managed the Blues for 18-months before getting sacked in January 2021.

Following the sack of Graham Potter by Chelsea FC this week, and the decision of the club owners to carefully select the next manager, Lampard has been contacted to step in until the end of the current campaign.

According to Italian transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, an agreement has been reached in principle between Lampard and Chelsea FC to have the 44-year old appointed interim manager until the end of the season.

44-year-old Lampard was at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night to watch Chelsea’s goalless draw against Liverpool just 48 hours after Graham Potter was sacked.

Bruno Saltor was the man in-charge for the goalless draw but is now likely to take a bow for Lampard to take charge for the English Premier League Clash Vs Wolves on Saturday .

Lampard will then lead the Blues to a UEFA Champions League quater-final clash vs Real Madrid FC in midweek. If he leads the club to Champions League glory, Lampard will certainly give the club owners something to worry about that is if no breakthrough is made in ongoing talks with Luis Enrique, Nagel Nagelsmann and other managers linked to the club.

According to reports in London, Chelsea FC is expected to make a formal announcement in the coming hours confirming the return of the clubs all-time goal-scorer.
