Frank Onyeka pens new long-term contract at Brentford
Super Eagles midfielder extends stay until 2027
Super Eagles ace Frank Onyeka has signed a new contract with Brentford that will see him remain at the club until at least 2027, manager Thomas Frank revealed.
Energetic midfielder Onyeka has endured two injury-hit seasons in London since arriving the club from FC Midtjylland, a side owned by the owners of Brentford. The 25-year-old has only played 41 times over two seasons, often completely disappearing from their first-team squad entirely without any explanation.
Brentford boss Frank extolled the virtues of the all-action midfielder, referring to him as a great disruptor and an adept operator in the half-spaces. The Nigerian international is clearly admired by the manager, who hopes to see a lot more of him this season.
Onyeka featured extensively for the Bees during the Premier League Summer Series, a preseason tournament held in the USA this summer. The midfielder will be keen to stay fit and play more regularly for his club this season and become a very important member of the team as they look to build on two positive seasons in the top-flight.
