Why Gary Neville tagged Arsenal new signing Sead Kolasinac ‘irresponsible’
Gary Neville has slammed Arsenal’s defence, following their first half display against Leicester City at the Emirates Stadium on Friday and described new boy Sead Kolasinac as “irresponsible”.
Alexandre Lacazette opened scoring in the 2nd minute, before Shinji Okazaki equalized for the visitors. Jamie Vardy then put Foxes ahead ahead on the half hour mark. But Danny Welbeck levelled before the break.
Neville hit out at the Arsenal defence at half time, labelling it “naive”, for the way it stood up to the Foxes’ attacking display.
He specifically picked out Kolasinac for extra criticism, focusing on his positioning for the first Leicester City goal.
“I have to say, their new centre-back, it’s so irresponsible what he does,” Neville said speaking on Sky Sports.
“He is there at that back post, he drifts forward, I have no idea what he is doing.
“He drifts forward and leaves a massive void for the rest of his team to cover, and they can’t cover it. It’s poor from him.”
