Gautrat makes Permanent move to Newcastle Women
World Cup winner Morgan Gautrat commits future to Newcastle Women
Morgan Gautrat has made her move to Newcastle United Women permanent after initially joining the club on loan from Orlando Pride last summer.
The experienced midfielder, who is a two-time FIFA Women’s World Cup winner with the United States women’s national team, has now signed a permanent contract with the Magpies following her time in the North East.
Gautrat made five appearances during her loan and produced a memorable moment in October when she scored a dramatic last-minute equaliser against Crystal Palace.
Speaking after completing the permanent move, Gautrat said she was happy to continue her journey with the club.
“I’m delighted to have signed a permanent contract with the club. I have really enjoyed my time here and in the city so far.
“I’m excited to get back on the pitch with the girls and keep working towards our ambitions for this season and beyond.”
Head coach Tanya Oxtoby also highlighted Gautrat’s importance to the squad, even while she has been dealing with injury.
“Morgan has had a challenging time with injury since I came into the role, but her leadership qualities around the group have been key for us,” Oxtoby said.
“Her experience in the game speaks for itself and we are looking forward to welcoming her back onto the pitch.”
