George fined for referee criticism, profanity
Indiana Pacers star Paul George will pay a hefty fine after he criticised officials and used profanity in a live interview following his team’s 104-97 win over the Brooklyn Nets on Friday.
The Pacers forward was hit with a $35,000 fine after he trashed the officiating crew, saying “the stripes [were] terrible”.
He then added the game was “frustrating” and that “the league does a better job looking at s*** like this”.
It is the second time this season George has landed in hot water for criticising officials.
He was fined $10,000 after the season opener against the Toronto Raptors when he said there “were a lot of bad calls” made.
