Gerard Piqué Opens Up About Possibility of Becoming Barcelona President

Legendary Spain and Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué has discussed the possibility of becoming the president of Barcelona in the future.

There has always been speculation about Piqué’s future role at the club, with many suggesting he could become a director or even the club president. Given his legacy as one of Barcelona’s greatest-ever players and his strong connection with the fanbase, it seems likely he would receive plenty of support if he chose to take on such a role.

In a recent conversation with Iker Casillas, Piqué said, “If the club needs me, I will be Barcelona’s president.” However, he also acknowledged the sacrifices that would come with the position, saying, “Being Barça’s president involves many sacrifices, especially for someone like me, who doesn’t need it.”

Piqué further explained, “For others, the position opens many doors, but for me, it would be a much bigger sacrifice.” Despite the challenges, Piqué feels a sense of responsibility to the club, adding, “Barça has given me everything, and I am who I am because of this club. We become what we are thanks to the teams we belong to.”

Although he is unsure about when or if he will run for president, Piqué has left the door open, saying, “It depends on the club’s circumstances and my personal situation, we will see.”
