Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr who is linked to a move to become Ghana’s coach has reacted to the news as a former Premier league manager Chris Hughton set to take the job.

It was all over the media that Gernot Rohr has been approached by Ghana FA to become their new coach as they prepare for a double-header qualifiers against Nigeria for a world cup slot.

Gernot Rohr who is reportedly interested in the move has given his take on the said move.

“I haven’t taken any decision yet at the moment but I will consider all the proposals I have received,” he told PUNCH Sports Extra.

“I will consider a new job if it is in the right direction.”

“I won’t comment on that,” when asked specifically about the Ghana offer.

According to Punch, a close source to Rohr had revealed that he is very much open to leading Ghana’s national team ahead of the World Cup playoffs in March.

“Ghana football has great potential and his experience of the African game will help him steer the team in the right direction.

“His knowledge of African football is deep especially with West African teams. Besides Nigeria, he also handled Burkina Faso and Niger. Rohr also had a stint with Gabon in 2017. He has the quality to handle the Black Stars.”

While this is ongoing, former Newcastle manager Chris Hughton is said to be close to taking up the Ghanaian job and he is looking to convince Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odio to dump England for Ghana.
