Gift Orban Scores First Goal for Verona in Draw Against Juventus

Gift Orban scored his first goal of the season to help Hellas Verona earn a 1-1 draw against Juventus on Saturday night in Serie A.
The match was played at the Stadio Marc’Antonio Bentegodi, and the result ended Juventus’ perfect start to the 2025/26 league season.
How the Match Unfolded
Juventus started the game strongly and took the lead in the 19th minute.
Francisco Conceição cut in from the left wing and scored with a brilliant shot into the bottom corner.
Despite the early goal, Juventus lost momentum as the game went on, and Verona slowly began to fight back.
Just before half-time, Verona were awarded a penalty after a VAR review showed that Joao Mario had handled the ball in the box.
Gift Orban stepped up and calmly scored from the spot, hitting the ball with just enough power. The ball went in off the crossbar, beating Juventus goalkeeper Michele Di Gregorio.
Orban Impresses
It was Orban’s second appearance for Verona, and he was named Player of the Match. The 22-year-old Nigerian striker was a constant threat to the Juventus defence.
He almost scored a second goal in the second half but was denied by a great save from Di Gregorio. He was later substituted in the 90th minute, with Junior Ajayi replacing him.
Second Half Drama
After the break, Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic had a chance to restore the lead, but his shot was saved by Verona goalkeeper Lorenzo Montipo.
Verona thought they had scored again when Suat Serdar found the net, but VAR ruled it out for offside.
The match ended 1-1, with both sides unable to find a winner in the final minutes.
