Gift Orban shares what Alexandre Lacazette does for him at Lyon

Nigerian star Gift Orban has expressed his admiration for Lyon captain Alexandre Lacazette, praising the former Arsenal striker for his leadership and influence on the team.

Orban, who has been in fine form since the start of the Ligue 1 season, has already netted two goals for Lyon, contributing significantly to the club’s recent success.

Orban’s most recent heroics came in Lyon’s thrilling 4-3 comeback victory against RC Strasbourg at the Groupama Stadium. Entering the match as a substitute in the 59th minute, the 22-year-old striker made an immediate impact, scoring two goals within five minutes to secure a vital win for his team.

Following the match, Orban spoke highly of Lacazette, acknowledging the crucial role the experienced striker plays both on and off the pitch. “He is an exemplary captain,” Orban said, according to Olympique-et-Lyonnais. “He has experience, so I watch him in training and he talks to me to advise me so that I can give the best of myself.”

Orban revealed that Lacazette’s guidance has been instrumental in helping him adapt and excel at Lyon. “He frequently provides me with advice, and I look up to him as one of the best strikers in France,” Orban added.

Lyon’s victory against Strasbourg marked their first Ligue 1 win of the season, a hard-fought triumph after initially trailing 3-1. Orban’s contributions were pivotal, continuing his strong preseason form and quickly establishing himself as a key player for the club in the new campaign.

With Lacazette’s mentorship, Orban appears poised to make a significant impact in Ligue 1 this season.
