Giroud passes Henry to become France’s All-time top scorer
Olivier Giroud has smashed Thiery Henry’s goalscoring record for the national team after his goal in France’s 3-1 win against Poland in a round of 16 game in Qatar on Sunday.
The Milan striker became the joint-top scorer alongside Thierry Henry with his goal in France’s 4-1 win against Australia in their first game at the FIFA 2022 World Cup.
Olivier Giroud and Kylian Mbappe combined for the goal which was the former Chelsea striker’s 52nd in France’s colours one more than Thierry Henry.
Giroud scored his first goal for France on 29th February 2012 against Germany and 10 years, 9 months, and 5 days later (4th December 2022) against Poland he scored his 52nd goal to become France’s all-time top scorer.
