Godswill Akpabio, Moshood Abiola Stadia Only Nigerian Venues Approved for CAF Club Competitions in 2025/2026 Season

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has cleared only two stadiums in Nigeria to host matches in the 2025/2026 CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

The approved venues are the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo and the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja. This means the four Nigerian clubs playing in the competitions will have to share these two grounds for their home matches.

Remo Stars and Rivers United will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League, while Kwara United and Abia Warriors will play in the CAF Confederation Cup.

CAF also released the full list of approved stadiums across Africa for the season’s fixtures. South Africa tops the list with 13 approved venues, followed by Morocco with 10, Algeria with 9, and Ivory Coast with 6. In contrast, Nigeria joins countries like Ethiopia, Libya, Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Senegal with only two approved stadiums each, while Ghana and Kenya have just one each.
