Golden Eaglet goalie Daniel Jinadu and Joshua Okocha sign professional contracts with West Ham
Golden Eaglet goalie, Daniel Jinadu and another player of Nigerian descent named Joshua Okocha have signed professional contracts with English giants West Ham United.
The London-based club announced via a statement that the Nigerian duo were among the seven Academy scholars who have signed a professional contract with the club.
West Ham United offered each player the professional contract after they have each impressed under the U18s Lead Coach Kevin Keen.
The coach described the Daniel Jinadu as a consistent and hardworking player, on Joshua, he said he is always working on getting better each day.
“Daniel Jinadu has spent a lot of time training with the U23s this season. He came in and played five U18s games in goal, including saving a penalty against Aston Villa in December. He’s a very consistent, hard-working and intelligent goalkeeper.
“Joshua Okocha was the U18s captain last year. He’s someone who is always extremely conscientious of working on his game and getting better. He’s a good, big, strong central defender, and I look forward to seeing how far he can progress in the future,” said Kevin Keen.
While much is not known about Joshua Okocha, Daniel Jinadu was the player in goal for the Nigeria U-17 team at the last FIFA U-17 World Cup in Brazil.
