Golden Eaglets record big win over NLO side in Abuja
Nigeria’s under-17 national team, the Golden Eaglets, recorded a resounding 6-0 victory over P. Sports Academy in a friendly match held at the FIFA Goal Project, Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, on Thursday, April 25, 2024.
This commanding win marked the Eaglets’ third friendly encounter in as many days against football academies as they prepare for upcoming international engagements.
Previously, the Eaglets managed a draw against Ikon-Allah Academy on April 23rd and another draw with Miracle Football Academy the following day.
Under the guidance of coach Manu Garba, the Golden Eaglets unleashed their attacking potential against P. Sports Academy, netting twice in the first half and adding four more goals in the second half to demonstrate their determination and skill as they intensify preparations for the upcoming WAFU B tournament.
The 2024 WAFU B U17 Championship is scheduled to take place in Ghana, where Nigeria aims to defend the title they secured at the regional tournament in 2022.
Drawn in Group B alongside Burkina Faso, Niger, and Togo, the Golden Eaglets face stiff competition in their quest for regional glory.
