Governor Lalong rewards NPFL champions Plateau United with 80 million Naira cash gift
Plateau State Governor Simeon Lalong has rewarded NPFL champions Plateau United with a cash gift of 80 million Naira at a special reception staged in their honour in Jos tonight.
The state government contributed 50 million Naira, while the local governments parted with 30 million Naira.
A breakdown down of the cash gift showed that 40 players in the championship-winning squad received 1.5 million Naira each, coach Kennedy Boboye will get 2.2 million Naira, while other coaches receive 5.8 million Naira.
The team will also be given plots of land, according to the elated Governor.
The reception at the Government House was a colourful and befitting recognition of Plateau United’s feat this past season.
Plateau United made history last season when they emerged champions for the first time.
They will represent Nigeria in the CAF Champions League next year.
