Grateful Kelechi Iheanacho tags Pep Guardiola a great coach in first Sevilla interview
Nigerian footballer Kelechi Iheanacho is eager to bring his extensive experience to Sevilla and help the club achieve success in the upcoming season.
The Nigerian forward recently moved to Sevilla after leaving Leicester City, and he has reflected on his time at Manchester City, where he gained invaluable experience under the mentorship of renowned manager Pep Guardiola.
During his tenure at Manchester City, Iheanacho had the opportunity to learn from some of the best players, including Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko, Stevan Jovetic, and Alvaro Negredo, and worked under both Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola.
In an interview with Sevilla’s official website, Iheanacho expressed his gratitude for the lessons learned, saying, “I have learned a lot playing alongside those players and from a great coach like Pep. They are legends.”
The 27-year-old forward is excited about applying the skills and knowledge he gained at City to his new role at Sevilla. He added, “I hope that everything I learned there, I can contribute everything to this club and help it reach greater heights.”
Iheanacho’s time at Leicester City was marked by significant achievements, including his contribution to the club’s 2021 FA Cup victory. As he embarks on this new chapter with Sevilla, he is ready to leverage his experience to make a meaningful impact.
