Guangzhou R&F 5 Changchun Yatai 2: Ighalo’s 8th goal in 8th game since return from world cup not enough

Super Eagles striker and Changchun Yatai’s captain was again on target for his Chinese side in their 5-2 away loss to Guangzhou R&F at Yuexiushan Stadium in their Chinese Super League matchday 19.

The former Watford who has been in fine form since his return from the 2018 World Cup in Russia opened the scoring for the visitors in the 12th minutes of the clash.

Urso Junior equalized for the home team in the 27th minutes, Tosic gave the hosts the lead in the 38th minutes and Xiao Zhi scored the third in the 45th minutes of the clash.

At halftime, Guangzhou R&F were 2 goals up and threatened to add more to the scoreline.

Zahavi who assisted the third goal scored he fourth goal in the 73rd minutes but Long Tan pull one back in the 78th minutes. Zahavi then scored his second goal in the last minute to complete his sides 5-2 win.

Odion Ighalo was on the pitch throughout the game but couldn’t alter the scoreline.

His 12th minutes’ strike is his 8th goal for the Chinese outfit in 8 games since he returned from the world cup.

Odion Ighalo with 15 league goals is currently on the third position behind Shanghai SIPG’s Wu Lei and Guangzhou R&F Zahavi who has 18 and 16 goals respectively.
