The game Will be the third between Guinea-Bissau and Nigeria in Men’s Full International level.

Nigeria defeated Guinea-Bissau at the 2021 AFCON in Cameroon, but the Djurtus got their revenge in a 0-1 2023 AFCON qualifier at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja on Friday March 24.

Team News

Guinea-Bissau Full-back Jefferson Encada is a doubt for the Djurtus after coming off with an injury in the first leg and could be replaced in the matchday roster.

Nigeria will miss the services of Kevin Akpoguma due to his injury in the first leg. The German Bundesliga defender will be replaced by either Simi Ajayi or Kenneth Omeruo.

That will be one of numerous changes Super Eagles of Nigeria Head Coach Jose Peseiro is expected to make from the team that started in Friday’s defeat.

The likes of Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho from the changes noticed in the teams training may drop to the bench.

HOW THINGS STAND IN GROUP

Guinea-Bissau occupy top spot in Group A of the 2023 AFCON quailfiers with 7-points from three matches.

Nigeria sit in second place with 6 points while Sierra Leone are in hot chase with 5 points from four games. Sao Tome and Principe are bottom of the standings with 1-point from four games.
