Erling Haaland scored twice in quick succession to put the Citizens 3-0 up before assisting Phil Foden for a 4th in a miserable first half for the Red Devil’s .
Anthony pulled one back for Manchester United in the 55th minute before Erling Haaland bagged his hattrick in the 63rd minute for 5-1 .
Phil Foden got his hat-trick in the 73rd minute to put City 6-1 up . Manchester United substitute Anthony Martial scored in the 84th and 90th minute as it finished 6-3 at the Etihad Stadium .
With the win, City maintained their unbeaten start to the season to close the gap on Arsenal at the top of the EPL table after Matchday Eight.
Arsenal lead the standings with 21 points after eight games while defending Champions Manchester City sit in second place with 20 points .
