Manchester City went past a stubborn Sheffield United FC side courtesy of goals by Erling Haaland and a late Rodri winner in week three of the 2023/2024 English Premier League season.
City were without manager Pep Guardiola, who underwent surgery on a back problem earlier this week.
While Pep is recovering in Barcelona and will not return until after the international break, assistant Juanma Lillo took charge at Bramall Lane .
In the first half, the champions missed several chances including a penalty miss by Erling Haaland, as it stayed goalless at halftime.
Erling Haaland atoned for his penalty win with a 63rd minute headed goal to put Manchester City in front.
With five minutes to the end , Bogle scored the equalizer for Sheffield United FC but their joy was aborted when Spanish midfielder Rodri fired home a screamer to seal a 1-2 win for Manchester City.
Following the win, City return to top spot in the English Premier League and are the only team with a 100% record this term after three round of matches.
