Champions League

Hari Kehill, Sesk Fabreqas and Villian… Chelsea stars as you’ve never seen them before ahead of Qarabag clash

Chelsea’s travelling contingent for Wednesday evening’s Champions League tie at Qarabag may see something unusual when they read their pre-match programmes.

Matchday five of the Champions League sees the Blues in Azerbaijan – knowing a win will guarantee them a spot in the last 16 of the competition.

And those supporters of the Premier League champions who have travelled to the Baku Olympic Stadium may find it hard to find some players in their programme.

The pre-game programme for Chelsea in Azerbaijan depicted their names differently to normal

The Azerbaijani language translates the likes of Gary Cahill as ‘Hari Kehill’ and Cesc Fabregas as ‘Sesk Fabreqas’.

The only names that doesn’t change through translation are Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata and Eduardo.

But if any fans may have trouble deciphering the players, don’t worry as their shirt numbers are written next to their names.

Antonio Conte wouldn’t have cared about the spelling of his squad’s names after their 4-0 victory.
