Harry Kane settles into new Munich home with a bizarre history
England captain Harry Kane is making himself at home in Munich as he prepares to move into his new residence, just 25 minutes away from Bayern Munich’s training facility, Sabener Strasse.
Kane’s family, including wife Kate Goodland and their four children, are expected to join him in the coming days, marking a significant step after staying in a Munich hotel since his transfer from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer.
The new mansion, with notable features like an XXL terrace, a whirlpool, and a spa area, is undergoing final touches to welcome the Kane family.
The strategic location close to the club’s training facility adds convenience to the England striker’s routine.
However, the house has an intriguing history, having featured in the 2014 German film “Vaterfreuden” (translated to ‘Joy of Fatherhood’).
The plot of the movie revolves around a sperm donor accidentally receiving a vasectomy from a ferret, with renowned German actor Matthias Schweighofer in a leading role. Schweighofer, known for his recent cameo in Christopher Nolan’s 2023 release “Oppenheimer,” played a part in the amusing and quirky storyline of “Vaterfreuden.”
While the house may have a cinematic past, Kane is likely more focused on creating a comfortable family home in Munich.
The move comes as Kane enjoys a winter break, spending quality time with his family, a luxury he hasn’t had during previous seasons.
Recent glimpses of Kane’s Christmas getaway with his wife and children on a tropical beach showcase the striker’s relaxation during the break.
Kane, now part of Thomas Tuchel’s Bayern Munich, is set to resume Bundesliga action on January 12 when his side faces Hoffenheim at the Allianz Arena.
The move into his new Munich residence marks a significant development in Kane’s adjustment to life in Germany and his commitment to Bayern Munich’s campaign as he settles into the new environment.
