Harry Maguire set to join West Ham as United reach transfer fee agreement
England International Harry Maguire is set to join West Ham after Manchester United agreed a £30 million offer for his services on Tuesday August 8.
According to multiple sources, West Ham and Manchester United have now reached an agreement in principle for Maguire. The London-based club are willing to pay around £30 million for the centre-back.
This represents a £50 million loss on Man United’s £80 million spent in the acquisition of Harry Maguire from Leicester City.
The accepted off represents an upgrade from the £20 million West Ham offer that the Red Devils initially rejected even as they looked certain to let Maguire go this summer.
Before the move is complete, there are still a few last-minute issues to settle surrounding Maguire’s departure from Manchester United this includes rumours that the defender may request payment from his current employers considering that he will probably earn less money with West Ham.
That when sorted will give Harry Maguire leverage to work out personal terms with West Ham United FC and eventually move to the London Club.
His four-year stay at Old Trafford, which featured 175 games in all competitions, would come to a conclusion. He has previously played for Leicester City, Hull City, Wigan Athletic, and Sheffield United.
