Hilary Ekawu Agrees to Join NPFL Champions Rangers

Hilary Ekawu has agreed to join the reigning Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions, Rangers International. The move sees the talented 19-year-old midfielder departing Doma United, where he was one of the standout performers last season.

Ekawu, known for his dynamic play and consistency, turned down an extension offer from Doma United to make the switch to Rangers.

Last season, he scored three goals in 53 appearances, putting himself as a key player for the Savannah Tigers since joining them from non-league side FWC Champions FC in 2022.

Rangers are bringing in Ekawu to replace their captain, Chukwudi Nwodu, who is close to finalizing a move to Enyimba. This strategic signing is part of Rangers’ efforts to strengthen their squad as they prepare to defend their NPFL title.

“Joining Rangers is a big step in my career, and I look forward to contributing to the team’s success,” Ekawu said about his transfer.

Rangers’ head of operations, Amobi Ezeaku, praised the new signing, stating, “Hilary is a young talent with great potential. We believe he will be a valuable addition to our team.”
