Hockey Africa Cup of Nations: Nigeria trash Uganda 10-3 in Ghana

Everything is going as planned for the Nigerian teams at ongoing Hockey Africa Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Yesterday, the men’s team suffered a 4-2 loss to mighty Egypt in their first group game.

Nigeria drew the first blood in the second quarter of the game and were tied 2-2 at a point in the game but a much experienced Egyptian side won the game 4-2.

They however, bounced back in the second game trashing Uganda 10-3 this afternoon at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium to the delight of Nigerians both home and abroad.

The women also continue their strong start to the tournament. The Nigerian ladies who were forced to a 2-2 draw by hosts Ghana in their first game, secured all the points in their second game.

They beat Zambia 2-1 in the game played today at the Theodosia Okoh Hockey Stadium.

Both teams will continue to push and fight for a place in the Common Wealth Games which will be hosted by Birmingham, England from 28th of July to 8th of August 2022.
