How does Olisa Ndah feel about Super Eagles return – Orlando Pirates defender speaks
Super Eagles defender, Olisa Ndah, has expressed his excitement about being recalled to the Nigerian national team after a two-year absence.
Ndah, 26, was included in the squad for the AFCON 2025 Qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda, marking his return to the team after a lengthy break.
The former Rivers United player made his appearance in the 63rd minute during Nigeria’s 3-0 victory over Benin Republic at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
Speaking after the match, Ndah admitted he was surprised by the call-up but determined to make the most of it. “I think it’s an opportunity, I’m really excited for it but I wasn’t expecting it at all. It’s just an opportunity given to me by the club, which I appreciate,” Ndah said.
Reflecting on his form with Orlando Pirates, where he has already reached the finals of the MTN 8 competition, Ndah expressed optimism about the upcoming season. “Getting into the finals of the MTN8 again [is massive] and I think we’re going to have a great season and I’m excited.”
Ndah also commented on the Super Eagles selection process, praising the decisions made by the coaching staff. “I think nothing has changed, with the selection that has been coming out they have been good. You can’t make everyone happy, you can’t invite everyone. I think there is a limited number you can invite. The selections have been wonderful, I’m just happy to be here.”
