How Nigeria will approach Libya AFCON qualification double-header – Austin Eguavoen

Coach Austin Eguavoen is not taking the Nigeria vs Libya 2025 AFCON qualification double-header lightly, revealing he holds a ‘World Cup final’ commitment to the games.

Nigeria Super Eagles interim coach, Austin Eguavoen, has assured fans that the team will approach their upcoming games against Libya as if it were a World Cup final.

The Super Eagles, three-time African champions, are set to face Libya in the Day 3 and 4 fixtures of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Speaking to Brila FM, Eguavoen acknowledged the challenge ahead, saying, “We play Libya back to back. It will be the same approach that we had for the previous games, but it’s one game at a time. Game 3 versus Libya is like a World Cup final.”

Eguavoen emphasised that no match will be easy, but he remains confident that the team will give their all to make Nigerians proud. “We will do everything possible to put smiles on the faces of Nigerians,” he promised.

The Super Eagles are determined to secure positive results in these crucial encounters as they aim to qualify for the 2025 AFCON tournament.
